GUNPOWDER FALLS (FORMER MT. VISTA GOLF COURSE) CLOSING?
Currently, the golf course is still open; however there are on-going discussions between the Baltimore County Revenue Authority who purchased it in January 2004 and the Baltimore County Dept. of Parks and Recreation. The County is considering closing the course and using the 112 acre parcel for another use. One proposed use might be for a very large County regional park, since the County purchased the adjacent 28 acre Schmidt property (next to I-95) last year. The County may also be considering purchase of another adjacent 66 acre site (Rutkowsky property) that is currently for sale.
